A New School Year, & A Very Special Announcement!
How in the world is it already September? It seems like just a few days ago Southern Sage was going live. I know I've been a little M.I.A. but I promise you, it is not without reason! Where do I begin?
If you remember from the first blog, I am a full-time high school teacher. August rolled around and it was time for a new school year. It is my second year at my current school, and I was really looking forward to not being the "new girl" anymore. I teach a variety of classes: Senior English, Journalism, Yearbook, and Intro to Journalism. Catching a theme here? Journalism was my first real passion, and is really what brought me into teaching five years ago. Four different classes keeps me on my toes, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
In a quick blur of college essays, AP style, yearbook deadlines, and lunch duties, the first few weeks of the year were over before I could say "Welcome back, students!" Needless to say, I was exhausted...but there was another reason behind all that exhaustion.
Which leads me to the big announcement. Drum roll please!
Southern Sage is having a baby!
That's right! Erich and I are expecting our first child. We are so excited! So when I tell you I have good reasons for being off the grid, its not just the beginning of the school year. It was also a healthy mix of nausea, fatigue, back aches, and cravings. But the morning sickness has subsided, I'm starting to get that 2nd trimester pep, and I am ready to roll for all things #SouthernSage!
There are some pretty big things coming down the pipe, so be sure to follow on Facebook and Instagram so you are in the loop! I am starting to plan the details for the first annual #SouthernSage Holiday Mini Session Marathon. Spots will fill up quickly and you won't want to miss out.
That's all for now. Until next time!
